Enrichment
In addition to our daily educational programming, we offer our students additional, optional learning opportunities focused on enhancing their social, physical and cognitive development. These enrichment programs vary by subject, but all are led by select professionals who share our philosophy that young children learn best when that learning is made fun.
We are constantly evaluating our optional programs, but current offerings include:
Computer Classes
(three-year-olds and up)
Advance, South Winston-Salem
Because computer literacy is a requirement for effectively functioning in our “wired” society, we make computer instruction available to children who are ready to explore this all-important technology. Instruction is structured around the student’s capability and familiarity with regard to using a computer and is targeted to ensure that participants develop sufficient competency to employ a computer in age-appropriate play and learning.
Gymnastics and Dance
(two-year-olds and up)

Children need regular, constructive opportunities to release their healthy energy. Safe, supervised and carefully structured, our gymnastics and dance program provides a fun and engaging environment in which children can develop improved body control and physical coordination as they learn to tuck, tumble and move rhythmically through space.
Karate
(three-year-olds and up)
Advance, South Winston-Salem
The martial arts offer a unique opportunity for children to develop confidence and coordination while being exposed to the principals of respect, restraint and reverence. Our karate class introduces students to the basic forms of the discipline in an environment where participation is paramount and achievement comes to each child independently and at their own pace. When the kids are in the “dojo,” it’s all about fun and fitness not fighting.
Preschool Music
(toddlers through five-year-olds)

All children respond to music and the more they are exposed to it, the more they gain from it. The music program we offer are a favorite of both the children and parents for the joy and amusement they provide participants. The children sing, dance and explore various musical instruments – all in an exuberant and lively environment.
Adventure Camp
(five-year-olds through 12-year-olds)

Adventure Camp is our unique summer program that takes place June through August. It is a carefully supervised 11-week exploratory and experiential program during which the children will exercise their minds and their bodies. They’ll bowl, skate, swim, cook, climb and generally enjoy themselves as they discover new places throughout our community and revisit some familiar ones.
Every day at Adventure Camp is different with planned and appropriate indoor and outdoor activities, field trips and other “adventures’ designed to stimulate and enhance your child’s imagination, creativity, curiosity and desire to learn. It’s a great way for your child to spend the summer and a great way for you to know their time is being spent wisely.
