A Child's World Learning Center

Developing life-long learners

Since we opened our first facility in downtown Winston-Salem in 1992, A Child's World Learning Center has provided exceptional caring, teaching and loving to more than 3,000 area children through what are now four Best Friendslearning centers in Winston-Salem (2), Advance and Clemmons.

We are proud of the reputation we have earned as professional and nurturing caregivers; instilling in those we look after a love of learning and the foundation for developing a positive self-image.

Maintaining the Highest Standards

Our facilities are licensed and regulated by the Division of Child Development of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and all maintain “five star” staff-to-student ratios. At the same time, our instructors are carefully chosen based on their education, professionalism and experience.

Making Every Day a "Learning Day"

During the day our children participate in a wide variety of teacher-directed and child-initiated developmentally appropriate activities that, of course, begin with play. Recognizing that this how children learn, our curriculum provides each child with suitable, but always fun, opportunities to explore and grow in order that they may master current developmental milestones while acquiring the cognitive and social tools necessary to begin their next stage of development.

We make all this happen while nurturing each and every child so that they feel good about themselves and know they are loved.

Is This the Right Place for My Child?

Finding child care that meets your needs and the needs of your child can be challenging. There are numerous considerations and you may not always know the questions to ask.

So, to help, we’re providing a link to “A Parent’s Guide to Choosing Safe and Healthy Child Care” – a guide for identifying the indicators of high-quality child care produced by the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care.

The booklet lists the key questions you need to ask and we want you to ask them of us.
